Baltimore County police arrested two people early Thursday in connection with a string of vandalism cases that have occurred over the last month in Bowleys Quarters.

Officers allege that Lamountray Hampton-Williams, 18, of the unit block of Bayville Rd., and a 17-year-old boy are responsible for 53 cases of destruction of property.

Essex Precinct Captain told Patch that officers received a call around 3 a.m. about two people spray-painting mailboxes on Nollmeyer Road in Bowleys Quarters. The two suspects were arrested at the scene with spray paint and other supplies used for vandalism, he said.

Through their investigation, Hlavach said, officers linked the pair to other incidents.

"I have to give credit to those working the midnight shift," Hlavach said. "We had extra officers in the area due to the previous cases and were ready when they tried it again."

More when police responded to reports that several cars and other property had been vandalized with spray paint in the 3700 block of Holly Grove Road, located off Bowleys Quarters Road. A wooden privacy fence had been marked with a swastika, police spokeswoman Detective Cathy Batton said last month.

This came before as it was parked at the intersection of Carrollwood Road and Blue Heron Court.

"This was a great example of the police and the community working together," Hlavach said. "The community acted as our eyes and ears and when they spotted something, they were able to call us with an accurate description."
