Police Arrest “Public Enemy Number One,” Standardized Test Scores Decline, ‘House of Cards’ Comes to Towson

1. Just days after being named “public enemy number one” in Baltimore, Capone Chase, 19, was arrested by Baltimore City police. Chase is accused in the killing of a man on a Greektown playground.
2. Baltimore County police have arrested an unidentified man they say is responsible for the July 17 shooting death of Donte Stephens. Police say the alleged shooter was an acquaintance of the daughter of Stephen’s girlfriend.
3. Reading and math scores in Baltimore County on state-mandated standardized tests dipped slightly this year but the dip was less than declines in the state averages. School officials attribute the declines to a transition away from the Maryland School Assessment test to the new Common Core Standards test.
