No One Injured in Hopkins Village Fire

A fire was discovered on the second floor of an apartment building a 1 Brett Court in Essex.

Baltimore County firefighters were able to quickly control a fire that broke out on the second floor of an assisted-living apartment complex in Essex Thursday morning.

Emergency crews responded to 1 Brett Court at the Hopkins Village Apartments at about 8 a.m. for an automatic alarm, according to public safety officials.

Crews found a small fire on the second floor, and sounded a second alarm because of the "nature of the facility," according to Julia Hardgrove of the Baltimore County Public Safety communications office.

The fire was quickly contained, but the building did sustain smoke and water damage, Hardgrove said.

No one was injured and residents were able to return to their homes, according to Hardgrove.
