No Cause Yet Determined for Boat Fire

Galloway Creek Marina was the site of a boat fire Friday morning.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a boat fire Friday morning at Galloway Creek Marina.

Crews were called to the marina in the 1400 block of Burke Road at 6:16 a.m., where they discovered the boat on fire. More fire personnel and Maryland Department of the Environment employees were also later called to the scene, fire department spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher said.

The fire spread to a second boat at 6:34 a.m., causing what Rogers-Feher said was "minimal extension to the pier." The fire was under control at 7:34 a.m. There were no reports of injuries, Rogers-Feher said.
