Middle River Pair Charged with Killing Dundalk Man

(UPDATED 3:22 p.m.) A Middle River pair have been indicted on charges of allegedly killing a Dundalk man, authorities said.

John Joseph Leschefsky Jr., 27, and Carollyn Robin Duschl, 29, were being held in the on unrelated charges when a grand jury indicted the pair on Monday, Baltimore County police spokeswoman Detective Cathy Batton said.

Batton said both suspects are still being held in the detention center without bail.

The victim, Jeffrey Jennings, 57, of the 8100 block of Gray Haven Road in Dundalk, was reported missing by his son on Sept. 15, 2011, after he had not heard from his father in six days, Batton said.

According to a Baltimore County police news release, detectives—who had been investigating Jennings’ case as a missing person—intercepted communications between Leschefsky and others that led detectives to “believe that Jeffrey Jennings was dead and that he had been murdered.” Batton said Jennings, Leschefsky and Duschl were acquaintances. 

Batton said that during the course of the investigation, detectives gathered information about a possible location of Jennings’ body.

According to a news release from the Baltimore County police, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner positvely identified Jennings as the body discovered on Tuesday.
