Middle River Man Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run

A driver failed to stop after striking a pedestrian walking along Eastern Boulevard late Thursday night, police said.

A 26-year-old Middle River man suffered life-threatening injuries following a hit-and-run accident as he walked on Eastern Boulevard near the Middle River bridge late Thursday night, according to a Baltimore County police news release.

Police said Joshua Beckhart was crossing Eastern Boulevard east of the Middle River bridge when he was struck by a red- or burgundy-colored Mazda Protégé traveling westbound on Eastern Boulevard at about 11:45 p.m.

According to the release, the driver—whose car is missing the passenger side mirror—failed to stop after the accident and continued along Eastern Boulevard. Police said Beckhart was taken to Bayview Medical Center following the accident.
