Man Found Dead in Car is Identified; Was From Essex

Timothy Gunther, 43, was found unresponsive inside his car in Middle River Saturday morning.

Baltimore County police officials have identified a man found dead inside an SUV Saturday morning.

The victim has been identified as Timothy Gunther, 43, of the 300 block of Stillwater Road in Essex. Police said in a statement Monday the death appears to be a suicide.

An officer was patrolling for a missing person when he found a Chevrolet Blazer near Crossroads Circle and Williams Court in Middle River, according to a police statement.

The officer saw an unresponsive man in the car and tapped on the window of the SUV.

Three handwritten notes in the vehicle appeared to warn of a dangerous substance in the SUV, according to the statement.

The officer called for backup, including the Baltimore County Fire Department's hazard materials team and the police department's hazardous devices team.

As of Monday, police officials are still attempting to determine if any chemicals or other dangerous substances were used in this incident.

Gunther's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical examiner, which will determine a cause of death, according to the statement.
