Man Charged with White Marsh Arsons

Calvert P. Meredith, 53, is alleged to have set a mobile home and the Williamsburg Inn on fire.

A 53-year-old homeless man was arrested and charged with multiple counts of arson and burglary after allegedly setting multiple fires and burglarizing a Middle River business last week.

Calvert P. Meredith, of no fixed address, is suspected to have set a mobile home, located on the 11100 block of Pulaski Highway, on fire before running away around 6 a.m. on April 18.

Meredith is also suspected of trying to steal 30 feet of copper pipe from the Williamsburg Inn, also located on the 11100 block of Pulaski Highway before he is alleged to have set fire to a maintenance shed, according to police reports.

Police said a neighbor identified Meredith leaving the mobile home before he ran into a nearby wooded area. K-9 units were used to help apprehend the suspect in the woods.

Meredith is currently being held without bail at the , said Baltimore County police spokeswoman Detective Cathy Batton.
