Maine Man Gunned Down After Late Night Road Rage Clash in Maryland

A Maine man was driving home through Maryland when an unknown suspect ran his vehicle off the road. He was fatally shot in the median. Police are asking for the public's help in finding the shooter.

A road-rage incident that apparently began on Interstate 70 in Maryland turned into a pursuit that lasted for nearly 15 miles before a Maine man was shot and killed along the road, reports CNN.

State and federal investigators are asking drivers and body shop employees to call in with tips on the suspect's vehicle in the case.

According to FOX News, Timothy Davison, 28, called 911 around 2 a.m. on Jan. 4 while driving on Interstate 70 in Maryland to report that a vehicle was tailgating him. He then called back as he crossed into Pennsylvania to say he was being shot at, FOX says.

Officials told WCSH TV in Maine that both vehicles were northbound on Interstate 81 when the suspect forced Davison's vehicle into the median and someone fired several rounds into Davison's vehicle. Authorities arrived to find Davison suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

A task force composed of Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia state police, as well as the FBI, is seeking help from the public in finding a "dark colored" Ford Ranger XLT pickup with damage on the driver's side from ramming into Davison's car, CNN says.
