Essex Woman Arrested for Burglary

Police responded to a report of a burglary alarm on Foxchase Lane on Friday.

An Essex woman was arrested for the alleged burglary of a neighbor's home on Friday.

Police were called to the 1000 block of Foxchase Lane for reports of a home alarm going off and a burglary in progress. When police arrived at the scene, they found a woman matching the burglar's description in possession of the alleged stolen property—$5.91 in cash and a black knife. The alarm's control panel and a wall had been damaged, according to the report.

Shauwntay Williams, 19, of the 1000 block of Foxchase Lane was charged with first- and third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary of a dwelling, fourth-degree burglary using tools, fourth-degree theft and destruction of property.

Williams remains held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $75,000 bail, according to online court records. A preliminary hearing in her case is scheduled for Feb. 22 at district court in Towson.
