The skateboarder was outside the shopping center around 5:30 p.m. when a blue 2007 Honda pulled over. The driver got out and pushed the boy to the ground before taking the skateboard valued at $200, according to police.

The victim contacted police and identified a 16-year-old Essex boy as the robber. He was later arrested and charged as a juvenile with assault and theft, police said.
