Essex Man Sentenced 8 Years in LA Child Porn Case

Investigators say they seized more than 150,000 photos and videos from Phillip Sessa Jr., who pleaded guilty on child pornography possession charges last year.

A federal judge in Louisiana has sentenced an Essex man to eight years in prison on child pornography possession convictions.

The Advertiser reports that Phillip Sessa Jr., 30, was sentenced Tuesday in federal district court in Lafayette to 97 months in prison followed by 15 years of supervised release.

According to the newspaper, an acquintance told police in November 2011 that Sessa had child pornograhy on a computer at his Louisiana home. Authorities found the content, including more than 150,000 photos and videos on disks, hard drives and a phone. Some of the children, he told investigators, were his girlfriend's children in the Baltimore area.

Sessa was released, and moved back to the Baltimore area the next month, the newspaper reports. He was arrested in January 2012 and pleaded guilty in July.
