Essex Man Charged With Kidnapping Girlfriend

Essex man arrested on charges of kidnapping and assaulting his girlfriend.

Police say an Essex man kidnapped and assaulted his girlfriend early Sunday morning.

Police received a call at 4:32 a.m. that morning from the 600 block of Delaware Avenue.

Police say that after a fight at a birthday party earlier that night, a man forced his girlfriend into his mother's boyfriend's car and drove her around, at one point trying to strangle her with a jacket.

She broke free and ran to a neighbor's home, where the neighbor called police, according to the police report.

The woman had several bruises, but declined medical attention.

Cody Joshua Lynch, 27, of the 600 block of Delaware Avenue, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and first- and second-degree assault.

He remains held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, according to online court records. No court date has yet been listed.

I'm amazed, when you look these people up in the Md Judiciary Case site, so many of them should be in jail, but are on probation.
