Essex Man Arrested in Bike Theft

Franklin Ray Lewis was arrested late Sunday.

An Essex man was arrested late Sunday in the theft of a bike, according to Baltimore County police.

Franklin Ray Lewis, 18, of the 500 block of Chalcot Square, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree theft and burglary, according to court records.

Police say a man was seen looking in backyards in the 700 block of Middlesex Road at around 11 p.m. Sunday. When the man was later seen riding a bike, police were called. Lewis was questioned and, according to the police report, admitted taking the bike. The bike was returned to its owner, according to police.

He is currently being held on $15,000 bail in the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, according to online court records.
