Essex Crime: Trailer Set Ablaze in Bowleys Quarters

Baltimore County police are investigating what caused a trailer, used to store old tools and other items, to catch on fire on Saturday in Bowleys Quarters.

According to police reports, the fire was reported around 6 p.m. Saturday on the 400 block of Bowleys Quarters Road. The trailer is located behind the site of the former Mama Maria’s Restaurant, which has been vacant for several years.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was extinguished by crews from the Baltimore County Fire Department and the Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Department. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to reports.

Langs Road, 9800 block, between 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 19: A 32-inch TV was stolen from an apartment. Total loss: $400.

Margaret Avenue, 300 block, between noon March 12 and 4 p.m. March 17: A generator was stolen from the back deck of a home. Total loss: $800.

Edisto Way, 9800 block, between 8:45 and 10:20 p.m. March 17: A 47-inch 3D TV, Xbox and seven video games were stolen from a home after someone pried the rear window off its track to enter the residence. Total loss: $2,218.

Cedar Avenue, 400 block, between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. March 16: An unknown about of money was stolen from a home after someone entered the residence by breaking a window.

Howard Avenue, 1600 block, between Jan. 1 and March 15: A lawnmower and two trimmers were stolen from a shed. Total loss: $650.

Shipfriend Road, 700 block, between 3:26 and 7 p.m. March 14: A PlayStation 3 and a coffee container with about $100 in change in it were stolen from a home after someone entered through an unlocked door. Total loss: $400.
