Essex Crime: Tractor Stolen from Mt. Carmel

A 22-year-old Essex man was arrested after police found stolen lawn care and sports equipment at his home on March 22.

Kristopher Summers, of the unit block of Seaford Avenue, was charged with second-degree burglary and related theft charges, according to police reports and court records.

According to police reports, officers received a tip that the equipment, stolen from , allegedly could be found at Summers’ residence.

When police arrived, his mother’s boyfriend informed police that Summers had brought home the equipment—which included a tractor, generator and lacrosse gear—and stored much of it in the shed., the report continued.

Police said they questioned Summers, and he allegedly admitted to the theft. Officers later search the residence and recovered all the stolen property, according to the police report.

Here are other recent crimes reported to the Essex Precinct:

Cloverwood Court, unit block, between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. March 23: A laptop computer, jewelry box, makeup, a Gucci purse, sunglasses, Nintendo Wii, 20 Wii video games, DVD player and $3,000 were stolen from a condominium after someone pried open a window lock to enter the residence. Total loss: $5,307

Nakota Court, unit block, between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m. March 23: About $115 was stolen from a home after someone entered through a front window.

Punjab Circle, 900 block, between 3:15 and 9:40 p.m. March 21: A laptop computer was stolen after someone unlocked a rear, sliding door to enter the home. Total loss: $650.

Lanflair Road, 1500 block, between 6 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. March 21: A 46-inch TV and a laptop computer were stolen after someone entered an apartment through an unlocked window. Total loss: $2,700.
