Essex Crime: Teens Arrested Following Car Break-Ins

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Two teenage boys were arrested and charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into several vehicles along Martin Road in Essex.

According to police reports, a witness flagged down a police officer after seeing the boys, ages 16 and 17, breaking into the vehicles around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 29.

Police caught up with the teens, who allegedly had a camera and an iPod that had been taken from one of the vehicles. The boys were arrested and charged before being released to their parents.

Willbrook Road, 500 block, Sept. 30: An air conditioning unit was stolen from the side of a home. Total loss: $1,200.

Blackfoot Court, unit block, Sept. 30: A laptop computer and a power cord were taken from a home. Total loss: $600.

Shadetree Road, 1400 block, Sept. 29, Between 2–2:30 p.m.: An unknown male was seen climbing the balcony of an apartment building before he shattered the sliding glass door and stole an iPod and a set of earrings. Witnesses told police the man and a female ran away toward Hartland Road. Total loss: $1,000

Alconbury Road, 1500 block, Sept. 28: Two men were arrested and charged with first-degree burglary after allegedly stealing electronics from a home.

According to police reports, Malcolm Stevenson, 18, and Deontra Johnson, 19, entered the home and allegedly stole a laptop computer a flat-screen TV and an Xbox. Witnesses told police they saw two males who matched the suspects’s descriptions and they were caught holding controllers from the Xbox and the cord to the TV, which was found at a vacant home a short time later. Both suspects denied involvement in the burglary.

Greenbank Road, 7300 block, Sept. 24-27: Three feet of copper piping was cut out from a basement wall of a home. Total loss: $100

, unit block, Sept. 27: A watch was stolen from a home after an unknown suspect entered the residence through a rear first floor window. Total loss: $900.

Old Knife Court, unit block, Sept. 27: A container with $100 in change in it was stolen from a home after someone entered the residence through an unlocked door.
