Essex Crime: Man Assaulted, Robbed Near Home

A 34-year-old man was assaulted and robbed as he walked home from a store Thursday night in Essex, according to Baltimore County police reports.

The victim was approached by around 8 p.m. at Mansfield Road and Maryland Route 702 and asked for the time, the police report said. The suspects then pushed the victim to the ground and stole his backpack and groceries. He was not seriously injured.

Back River Neck Road, 100 block, 3 a.m., Nov. 4. Fourteen cartons of cigarettes, money, watches and two laptop computers were stolen from Romy’s C-Mart. Total loss: $2,235.

Goodwood Road, 1300 block, Nov. 3. Gold jewelry, medication and a 32-inch TV were stolen after a rock was thrown through a sliding glass window to gain entry. Total loss: $2,000.

Myrth Ave., 800 block, Nov. 2. Copper drain spouts were stolen from a home. Total loss: $100.

Carrollwood Road, 500 block, Nov. 2. Prescription medication and $200 were stolen from an apartment after entry was gained through a broken sliding glass door.

Stemmers Run Road, 400 block, Nov. 1. A 10-speed bike was stolen from inside the fenced-in yard of a home. Total loss: $150.
