Essex Crime: Dirt Bikes Stolen from Storage Unit

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Two dirt bikes were stolen Sunday from a storage locker in Middle River. Several units were also vandalized.

According to police reports, four storage units at Middle River Self Storage, located at 1010 Middle River Rd., were broken into between 8–9:50 p.m. An unknown suspect entered the business by cutting a fence before cutting off storage unit locks.

No items were stolen from three of the units.

Haley Road, unit block, Oct. 14: A watch, cell phone and white gold ring were stolen after someone entered a home through a rear window between 7:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Total loss: $1,175.

St. George Road, 300 block, Oct. 13: A bicycle was stolen from the driveway of a home sometime between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Total loss: $95.

Strawflower Road, 1400 block, Oct. 12: Between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., someone entered an apartment and stole a 40-inch TV, a 27-inch TV, two laptop computers and a printer. Total loss: $3,440.

Nitram Court, 300 block, Oct. 12: Between 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., a suspect stole a laptop computer, an external hard drive, jewelry and medication from an apartment after the breaking into a kitchen window. Total loss: $6,149.50

Rossville Blvd., 6000 block, Oct. 12: Four scrap metal air conditioning units were stolen from after someone cut a hole through a security fence. Total loss: $400.

Stemmers Run Road, unit block, Oct. 11: Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., someone stole a laptop computer, a rosary and $40 from a home. Total loss: $715.

Selix Court, unit block, Oct. 11: A gold necklace and bracelet, baby earrings, two silver necklaces and a Blackberry were stolen from a home after someone bent and broke a screen door. 

Ketch Cay Court, unit block, Oct. 11: A laptop computer, PlayStation 3, $400 cash and a duffle bag were stolen from a home around 12:30 p.m. Neighbors told police they saw two male suspects in the backyard before they ran away.

Wampler Road, 800 block, Oct. 11: A coffee machine, radio and food were taken from a K. Hovnanian Homes sales trailer. Total loss: $120.

Earls Road, 300 block, Oct. 10: A trailer with $5,500 worth of cleaning equipment was stolen from LaFarge Quarry after someone drove through a fence and hooked the trailer to the vehicle before driving away.

Capitol Court, 300 block, Oct. 9: An exterior air conditioning unit was stolen from the backyard of a home. Total loss: $3,800.
