Edgewood Man Arrested in Robbery at Burger King

Arthur L. Rodgers, 31, allegedly walked up to the Essex restaurant's drive-thru, struck an employee and stole cash from the register, police said.

 

A 31-year-old Edgewood man was arrested after he allegedly robbed an Essex fast-food restaurant March 28, authorities said.

According to police reports, Arthur L. Rodgers, of the 800 block of Williamsburg Court, allegedly walked up to the drive-thru of the , located on the 800 block of Eastern Blvd., struck the cashier in the face and stole about $30 from the register before running away at around 11:10 p.m.

Police said restaurant employees described the suspect and also caught a picture of the suspect on the restaurant’s video surveillance footage.

Officers were later called to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where a man was being treated following a single-car accident and he matched the description of the suspect that was given to police, the police report stated.

Police said the restaurant employee met officers at the hospital where she allegedly identified Rodgers as the suspect.

According to court records, Rodgers was charged with robbery, second-degree assault and theft less than $100. He was later released from the Baltimore County Detention Center.
