Edgemere Man Charged In Sex Offense Against Essex Boy

Steven Podles, 36, allegedly met a 13-year-old boy through an iPhone application and solicited sex from him.

An Edgemere man is charged with second-degree sex offense after allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old boy he met through an iPhone application.

Steven Douglas Podles, 36, of the 7200 block of River Drive, is charged with sexual solicitation of a minor, second-degree sex offense, and other related charges, police said.

Podles is currently out of jail on $75,000 bond and awaiting an October trial date, according to online court records.

Podles and his victim allegedly met through an iPhone application called Grinder back in February, according to the Baltimore County Police Department. The pair then began meeting to engage in sexual activity in the Essex area.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about Steven Podles to contact them at 410-307-2020.
