Donald Earl Davis Sr., 58, of Dundalk, died at the scene after the motorcycle he was driving crashed into the rear of a tractor trailer parked on the shoulder of the Baltimore Beltway.

A Dundalk man died Saturday morning when his motorcycle crashed into the back of a tractor trailer on the inner loop of I-695 just past Chesaco Avenue.

Maryland State Troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack responded to the two-vehicle crash that happened at 8:11 a.m. Aug. 10, according to a statement from state police officials.

The investigation found that a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling on the inner loop of the Baltimore Beltway just past Chesaco Avenue when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle moved from its lane to the right shoulder, according to the statement. The motorcycle then crashed into the rear of a tractor trailer that was parked on the right shoulder.

The motorcycle driver, later identified as Donald Earl Davis Sr., 58, of Dundalk, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the statement.

The truck driver was not injured.

Trooper T. Braxton of the Golden Ring Barrack is investigating the crash. Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Braxton at 410-780-2700, extension 5720.
