House Door Kicked in, Then Burglarized

Jan. 18:  An unknown suspect kicked in the door of a home on the 13100 block of Miles Road and removed copper wire from a refrigerator and hot water heater.

Jan. 18: An unknown suspect entered the back yard of a home on the 2100 block of Vailthorn Road and stole an air conditioning unit. Total loss: $500

Unlocked Car Burglarized

Jan. 18: An unknown suspect entered a man’s property on the 2100 block of Birch Road and stole several items from the victim’s unlocked car parked in the driveway. The stolen items included a gas can, jacket, CDs and sunglasses.

Businesses Vandalized, Burglarized

Jan. 18: Sometime between Jan. 14-18, an unknown suspect entered the business lot of the Operating Engineers Training School on the 9300 block of Pulaski Highway and destroyed a swing motor to a tower crane. The suspect then removed the copper wire out of the equipment. Total loss: $6,000

Woman Robbed at Knifepoint

Jan. 18: A 50-year-old woman was robbed at knifepoint while walking along Country Ridge Lane. Police report that two men approached the woman at about 8 p.m., one of them threatening her with a knife. The woman gave the men her money and the suspects ran westbound on Country Ridge Lane. One of the suspects was described as a black male, 19-23 years old, 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and tan boots. The other suspect was described as a black male, 19-23 years old, 5-foot-8, 160 pounds.

Electronics Snatched from Apartment

Jan. 17: Someone entered an apartment on Hadwick Drive and stole two laptop computers and two Playstation 3 consoles. Total loss: $1,350

Dogwood Road Home Burglarized

Jan.  16: An unknown suspect entered an unlocked slide window of a home on Dogwood Road and stole a laptop computer, various DVDs and a gold necklace. Total loss: $400.

Man Robbed in Middle River

Jan. 12:  A 69-year-old man was attacked and robbed while walking in the foot tunnel along Baker Avenue and Martin Blvd. Police report that an unknown suspect approached the victim from behind at about 6:43 p.m. and threw him to the ground before taking his money and escaping in a black Nissan Pathfinder. Total loss: $50.
