Crime Beat: Teens Robbed at Knifepoint

Here's a rundown of local crime reported to the Baltimore County Police Department's Essex Precinct.

Jewelry Stolen

April 8: An unknown suspect entered a home on the 700 block of MacDill Court and stole a diamond necklace, a white gold necklace, diamond earrings, a white gold necklace with a pendant, white gold hoop earrings with diamonds and costume jewelry.

Man Robbed at Food Lion

April 8: Police arrested a 22-year-old man and charged him with robbing a man outside the Food Lion on the 1400 block of Fuselage Avenue. According to police reports, Aaron Anderson, of the 300 block of Lorraine Avenue, allegedly approached the 24-year-old victim and asked him, “Where’s his money?” Anderson then allegedly pushed the victim and stole his wallet before fleeing in a nearby vehicle. Police later stopped the vehicle and arrested Anderson.

Tire Center Burglarized

April 7: Someone entered Service Tire Truck Center on the 9200 block of Pulaski Highway and stole the catalytic converters about of six vehicles from the property’s lot.

Dirt Bikes Snatched

April 7: An unknown suspect entered a garage of a home on the 1300 block of Evergreen Road and stole two Honda dirt bikes, a welder, generator and a toolbox.

April 7: An unknown suspect pried open a fence at about 3:30 a.m. and removed a dirt bike from a home on the 500 block of Grovethorn Road. The victim and another witness described the suspect as a black male with dreadlocks, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 150 pounds.

Cab Driver Robbed

April 6: Police arrested two juvenile males and charged them with robbing a cab driver. According to police reports, the 66-year-old cab driver took the two suspects, ages 15 and 16, to the Wal-Mart at the Carroll Island Shopping Center. The store was closed, so the boys asked to go to a nearby bank to withdraw money from an ATM. The boys then grabbed $30 from the victim as he attempted to make change for a $20 bill from their $5 cab fare. The boys eventually ran to nearby woods, where police eventually arrested them.

Laid Back Lenny’s Burglarized

April 6: An unknown suspect entered Laid Back Lenny’s, located on the 1800 block of Turkey Point Road, and stole $1,400 from the establishment. Workers noticed the cash missing when they entered the business at about 3:30 a.m. that morning to count the money from the previous day’s business.

Video Games Taken

April 4: Between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., someone entered through an unlocked window of a home on the 800 block of N. Maryln Avenue and stole a Sony Playstation 3 console. A witness told police that she saw a white male with a small build and black shirt and jeans enter the home. Total loss: $400.

Computer Stolen

April 4: An unknown suspect kicked in the rear door of a home on the 11200 block of Red Lion Road and stole a laptop off the dining room table. Total loss: $2,200.

Teens Robbed at Knifepoint

March 30: An unknown suspect robbed a pair of teenagers at knifepoint as they walked near Sussex Elementary School along Woodward Drive. According to police reports, the victims, a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, were walking when the suspect approached the pair and started rooting through the boy’s pockets. When the boy pushed him away, the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened the pair before taking the boy’s cell phone, which the suspect later destroyed.
