Crime Beat: Pair Arrested Following Armed Robbery of Former Coworker

Two men were arrested Tuesday night on charges of robbing a former coworker at gunpoint in Essex.

Bryson A. McKenzie, of the 4900 block of Hayden Drive in Fort Meade, and Christopher C. Richardson, both 29, were charged with armed robbery following the alleged attack on a 23-year-old man from Glen Burnie.

The man told police that he traveled from Glen Burnie to Essex with McKenzie under the guise of purchasing a flat screen TV from Richardson for $600.

According to police reports, the man and McKenzie met Richardson around 9:45 p.m. along the 1200 block of South Maryln Avenue. When the man took out the money, Richardson allegedly pointed a gun at his head and told him to get out of the car, according to police reports.

Richardson and McKenzie then drove away from the scene, police said. They were arrested later that night, according to police reports.

Akin Circle, unit block, July 7: A 17-year-old boy is suspected of taking two pizzas and five orders of wings without paying for them. A deliveryman from Middle River Pizzeria told police he dropped off the order to a home on Akin Circle only to have the person at the house grab the food and slam the door in his face. Police later traced the food to another house after researching the phone number used to call in the order.

Punjab Circle, 900 block, July 2: Someone broke into a vacant home, smashed holes in the drywall of a bedroom and damaged a window. Total loss: $200.
