Crime Beat: Man Robbed at Gunpoint, Homes Burglarized

Here's a rundown of local crime reported to the Baltimore County Police Department's Essex Precinct.

Gas Station Robbed

April 16: Police arrested a 34-year-old woman and charged her with attempted armed robbery of a Citgo gas station on the 9500 block of Pulaski Highway. Rebekah Zebora, of the unit block of National Drive, allegedly entered the gas station at about 6 a.m., walked behind the counter, displayed a knife and demanded money. When the worker told Zebora no, she ran away before being arrested by police following a struggle not far from the gas station.

Apartment Vandalized, Burglarized

April 15: An unknown suspect threw a brick through a living room window of an apartment on the 9800 block of Langs Road before stealing an Xbox 360, a laptop computer, an iPod, cellphone, silver knife, video games, 10 silver necklaces, a diamond tennis bracelet and a ring. Total loss: $4,064.

A/C Units Stolen from Church

April 14: Between April 10-14, someone entered Orems United Methodist Church, located on the 1000 block of Orems Road, and stole three air conditioning units. Total loss: $9,000.

ATV Taken from Shed

April 14: Between April 11-14, someone gained entry to a shed on the 1100 block of Susquehanna Road and stole a four-wheeler. Total loss: $2,700.

Several Car Break-Ins Reported

April 14: Police are investigated a string of thefts in Essex. Between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., five people reported having someone break into their vehicles. Two of the break-ins occurred on the 100 block of Sawgrass Court, two occurred on the 200 block of Mariners Point Road and one was reported on the 2900 block of Eastern Avenue. No suspects are known at this time.

Garage Burglarized

April 14: An unknown suspect broke a wood panel and entered a garage on the 100 block of Margaret Avenue before stealing multiple tools, a GPS unit and a radar detector.

Video Games Taken

April 13: An unknown suspect removed an upstairs bedroom window and stole an Xbox game console from a home on the 2100 block of Southorn Road.

Man Robbed at Gunpoint

April 13: Two unknown suspects robbed a 34-year-old man at gunpoint outside his home on the 9900 block of Arncliffe Road. The victim told police the two suspects were waiting for him in his backyard after he arrived home from work at about 11:35 p.m. One suspect threatened him with a gun while the other stole $90 and a watch from him before running away.

Man Caught Breaking into Lounge

April 12:  Police arrested a 48-year-old man and charged him with second-degree burglary for allegedly breaking into Mr. B’s Lounge, located on the 1800 block of Eastern Blvd.

According to police reports, Roger Anderson, of the 1500 block of Becklow Avenue, was arrested at the lounge where he allegedly tried to steal money from the business’ electronic gaming machines. Police said Anderson pried open the door of the lounge with a claw hammer and then kicked it in to gain entry. He also broke into the rear storage roof and tried to get into the safe. Total estimated damage: $2,000.

Diesel Fuel Snatched

April 11: Between April 6-11, an unknown suspect stole 400 gallons of off-road diesel fuel from an aboveground storage tank from Sauers Installation Inc., located on the 11000 block of Pulaski Highway. Total loss: $1,600.

Home Burglarized

April 11:  An unknown suspect broke a rear window of a home on the 9800 block of Edisto Way and stole jewelry, cash, a laptop computer, shoes and a purse. Total loss: $8,150.

Printing Equipment Taken

April 10: Police are searching for three suspects in connection with a burglary at Cogar Printing, located on the 1500 block of Martin Blvd. According to police reports, between 4-4:30 p.m., three suspects stole a black tin brochure stand and a tan plate processor located in the rear of the business and loaded them into a blue van.

Witnesses described the suspects as two white males and a white female.

The first male suspect was believed to be about 40 years old and wore a tan jacket. The second male suspect was 30-40 years old and wore a red hat, black T-shirt and jean shorts. The female suspect was described as 30-40 years old and she had a black or blue dress and was also wearing gardening gloves. Total loss: $4,150.
