Crime Beat: Man Assaulted, Robbed Walking Home

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

A 20-year-old Essex man was assaulted and robbed while walking home early Thursday morning.

According to police reports, a man approached the victim and went to shake his hand as he walked along Old Eastern Ave. and Back River Neck Road. Then, that suspect and another man threatened the victim and began punching him before telling him to give them everything he had.

The suspects then took off with the victim’s book bag, iPod, cell phone, sunglasses and pocketknife.

S. Marlyn Ave., 700 block, Aug. 21: A jet ski and trailer were stolen from Power Boat Unlimited. Total loss: $2,500.

Pulaski Highway, 10900 block, Aug. 19-20: A hammer drill, two copper welding leads and a copper pipe with a catalytic converter were stolen from P and H Fencing LLC. Total loss: $1,299.

Baker and Harrison avenues, Aug. 20: A 14-year-old boy was hit in the knee with a hammer and robbed of his shoes by two suspects at around 3:35 a.m. Total loss: $150.

Chalcot Square, 500 block, Aug. 17-19: A bicycle was taken out of the backyard of the home. Total loss: $90.

Pulaski Highway, 11100 block, Aug. 17: Two bottles of liquor were stolen from Stonewall Café after someone kicked in the glass of the front door of the business to gain entry. Total loss: $40.

Cutlass Court, unit block, Aug 16-17: Between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. an unknown suspect entered the home through a rear window and crawled inside before leaving with a TV, laptop computer, purse, iPod and lunchbox. Total loss: $1,565.

Pulaski Highway, 12400 block, Aug. 16-17: A 1,200-watt gas generator was stolen from a rental storage shed. Total loss: $350.
