Crime Beat: Essex Man Robbed for His Beer

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

A 53-year-old man was assaulted and robbed over a six-pack of beer early Saturday morning in Essex.

According to police reports, four male suspects approached the victim from behind not long after he got off a bus near his home on the unit block of Sharondale Way. The men then pushed him to the ground and demanded money.

When the victim told the men he did not have any money, one of the suspects punched him in the face and took his six-pack of Heineken cans. The victim described the men as black males between the ages of 16-21 wearing blue jeans.
