Crime Beat: Escorts Rob Client; Man Walking Child Attacked

Here's a sampling of local crime reported to the Baltimore County Police Department's Essex Precinct. (Any arrest information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.)

Female Escorts Rob Client

May 29: Three female escorts are being sought after an alleged home invasion and robbery of a potential client.

According to police reports, the 23-year-old male, who spoke only Spanish and was interviewed through an interpreter, contacted an escort service through a website to receive services through them.

At about midnight, three females met the victim in the lobby of his apartment, located in the 9800 block of Tailspin Lane. The females became enraged when the victim tried to pay for services with his payroll check and demanded they be paid in cash. One of the suspects allegedly then threw a glass bottle at the victim before retrieving a knife from his kitchen and threatening him with it.

According to police reports, the women then stole the victim’s laptop computer before escaping in a silver Honda Civic. The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on Tailspin Lane. Total loss: $705.

TVs Taken From Apartment

May 28: An unknown suspect entered an apartment on the 1100 block of Tace Drive and stole two televisions. Total loss: $2,700.

Scooter Snatched From Yard

May 28: An unknown suspect entered the front lawn of a home on the 2100 block of Old Eastern Ave. and stole a motor scooter. Total loss: $700.

Auto Theft Prevented

May 25: At about 9:20 p.m., two unknown male suspects attempted to steal a car in front of a home on the unit block of Barnacle Court before they escaped after the car’s owner saw them.

Police said the suspects broke the rear driver’s-side door window and entered the car. The pair then used a tool to attempt to start the ignition before the 44-year-old female victim saw them and they then fled.

Man Attacked While Pushing Stroller

May 25: At approximately 11:20 p.m. a 26-year-old man reported being cut with a knife during an attempted armed robbery as the victim was pushing his son in a stroller.

According to police reports, the man was near the intersection of Bennett Road and Marlyn Avenue near Middlesex Elementary School when an unknown male suspect approached him from behind and demanded money.

When the victim refused, the suspect cut him with a knife in the neck and attempted to cut him again before the victim knocked the suspect down and escaped.

Video Games Stolen

May 25: An unknown suspect entered an apartment on the 900 block of Garden Drive through an unlocked living room window and stole a Nintendo Wii and four video games. The suspect left through a bathroom window.

Electronics, Clothes Taken

May 25: Someone unlocked a rear window to an apartment on the 900 block of Garden Drive and stole a Nintendo Wii, a computer and various items of clothing. Total loss: $719.

Running Court Home Burglarized

May 25: An unknown suspect entered a home on the unit block of Running Court and stole two laptop computers and a watch. Total loss: $1,600.

Pair Arrested for Attempted Junkyard Break-in

May 23:  Two men were arrested for allegedly attempting to breaking into a Chase junkyard. The men, ages 25 and 24, attempted to break into EZ Pickins, located on the 200 block of Earls Road, in hopes of stealing a bumper corner for the older male to repair his Jeep so he didn’t have to tell his parents about the damage. When police arrived on the scene, the men were caught with tools to enter the facility but had yet to break in before allegedly admitting their plan to police.
