Crime Beat: Burglars Steal Copper, Electronics

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Wicomico Road, 2200 block, June 4-5: An unknown suspect entered the detached garage of a home and stole a power washer and a miter saw.

Dunwich Way, 600 block, June 3-4: An unknown suspect entered through a broken window and stole clothes, a laptop computer, home décor items and a power washer. The suspect also ransacked the residence. Total loss: $3,240.

Sugarwood Circle, 1300 block, June 4: At about 6:25 p.m., an 11-year-old boy was arrested and released to the custody of his mother after pushing an 8-year-old to the ground and stealing his bike. According to police reports, the victim was sitting on his bike and talking with friends when the suspect approached him and robbed him of his bike. The suspect was caught a short time later still riding the suspect’s bike.

Pulaski Highway, 11300 block, June 2-3: Someone gained entry into a fenced-in BGE parking lot and stole 30 pounds of standard copper cable. Total loss: $300.

Kingston and Firethorn Roads, June 1: Around 10:30 p.m., a 20-year-old woman reported having her purse snatched by three unknown male subjects at the intersection of Kingston and Firethorn roads. According to police reports, the suspects followed the victim as she walked along Kingston Road. The victim was then pushed to the ground and had her driver’s license and $60 taken from her purse. Total loss: $80.

Winter Park Circle, 1400 block, June 1: An unknown suspect forced open a rear sliding glass door and stole two cell phones.
