Man Known to Frequent Essex Reported Missing

Charles Weiman, 48, spent time in the Back River Neck area, Baltimore County police said.

The Baltimore County Police Department is asking for help locating a missing man who officials say frequented the Back River Neck area.

Charles Joseph Weiman, 48, who has no fixed address, was reported missing on Feb. 25, police said, after human bones were found near Overlea High School.

"Mr. Weiman's family contacted us and said, 'We have not seen Mr. Weiman since November,'" Cpl. Cathleen Batton, spokeswoman for the Baltimore County Police Department, told Patch.

"The bones were not his," she added.

After Weiman's family contacted the department, police began trying to find him.

Investigators spoke with people Weiman knew in the Back River Neck area, where he was known to visit the St. Stephens soup kitchen, police said.

"We believe he may be homeless," Batton said, "but he may be staying with someone."

According to police, Weiman was last seen by acquaintances in November 2012.

Police said they did not know where Weiman was traveling, what he was wearing or what he was driving.

Weiman is a Caucasian male who is approximately 5'9", weighs 160 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

There are two warrants out for his arrest, one for urinating in public and another for public intoxication, but police said that is not why they are looking for him at this time.

"We don't know if he has been to a hospital, we don’t know if he ... succumbed to the elements," Batton said. "At this point, we are asking anyone who may have seen him after November to contact the police department."

Anyone with information about Charles Weiman's whereabouts should contact the Baltimore County Police Department at 410-307-2020.
