Alleged Burglar Found Hiding in Riverbank

An Essex man is charged with first-degree burglary after the incident last Friday.

An Essex man hiding in a river bank behind a home was arrested Friday on charges of burglary.

Police were called to the 700 block of Riverside Drive for a report of a burglary alarm that had gone off around 10 a.m. that day. Police found that a back door had been kicked in, according to a police report.

They then found a suspect hiding in the riverbank outside the house.

Officers arrested 41-year-old Michael Jason Sullivan of the 1500 block of South Marlyn Avenue. Sullivan is charged with first-degree burglary, destruction of property and concealing a dangerous weapon. He is currently being held on $65,000 bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, according to online court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 22 at district court in Towson.
