9-Year-Old Girl Struck and Killed by Car in Middle River

The pedestrian was struck by a car at the intersection of Graythorn and Kingston roads on Wednesday.

A 9-year-old girl died after being struck by a car Wednesday in the Middle River community of Hawthorne.

At 5:07 p.m., Baltimore County police and fire personnel responded to a call about a pedestrian being struck at the intersection of Graythorn and Kingston roads, according to a statement from Cpl. John Wachter, a spokesman for the Baltimore County Police Department.

Responding officers found that the 9-year-old had been struck by a Dodge Charger, the driver of which remained at the scene.

The girl was taken by Maryland State Police helicopter to the Johns Hopkins Pediatrics Center with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Wachter.

The Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team continues to investigate the crash, Wachter said.
