What Does Essex-Middle River Really Need?

I agree with the good coffee shop. We could also use a good sushi restaurant. And, a great idea would be to take advantage of the water oriented community by building a water-park, Wilson Point would be a good location, that would be accessible by boat or land. Something similar to the waterpark in Chesapeake City. We need to bring people and money to Essex and Middle River! And remove the reputation that 21221/21220 are zip codes at the butt of most jokes.

A "nice" shopping / entertainment plaza, much like the Avenue at White Marsh somewhere in the area. What ever happened to that proposal to build something of the sort behind Martin's?

I hope they do the whole mixed-use property where the old GSA complex is. I personally would like to see a dog park. I love walking my dogs but wish they had a place to run free and play with other dogs. Wouldn't be a huge project either

Since Essex and Middle River are waterfront communities, what we need are water venues that the public can access. We need to take Wilson Point Park and turn it into a destination . Build a small water park, have a Boat Rental Consignment, A Pirate ship taking kids out, a Head Boat for fishing trips, a couple Charter Boats, some Crabbers and a Fresh Fish Market, an Ice Cream Stand, a Snack Bar, an Amphitheater. People from all over Baltimore County would come, Boaters from all over the bay would come. The park could be used for community events, Halloween, Christmas, Fourth of July ,and New Years. It can be and should be the heart of our Community were people come to gather, play, laugh and live.
