Dining out, especially with my little picky eaters, can be challenging.
You know the drill—the mac 'n' cheese isn’t exactly like mine, or the grilled cheese is made with yellow cheese, not white, and so on. Even the simplest things can make my son push the plate away. However, one upside of eating out is that my boys are often tempted to try something new!
We’ve dined at most establishments in the area. We've been successful at some, while others require us to serve up bowls of Cheerios upon returning home.
The ones we head back to over and over include Serpico’s, Outback Steakhouse, Bill Bateman’s Bistro, the Double T Diner and Liberatore’s. Recently, we’ve also added a few of the newer local restaurants to our list— Taco Love Grill and Italian Sensation.
Another place we like, especially on a nice warm day is Gunpowder Lodge. There’s nothing better than a good meal and relaxing while your children run around the playground.
Did you know that there are also a lot of dining deals in the area for families? The Harp would be a great place to try on a Monday or Tuesday, because kids eat free with paying adults. And I frequently check the Economoms website, which has a great list of local restaurants and chains with family discounts.
But now, it’s time for my family to broaden our restaurant selection, and I need your help.
Where do you like to eat? Who has the best kids' menu? Tell us in the comments.
