'Scouting for Food' Bag Distribution to Help Others

Scouting for Food bag distribtution is April14-15 wtih the food pick up on April 21 at 8:00 am. Please "help others" by donating a bag of food. Much of this food stays in the local food pantries.

Part of the oath for all levels of Scouting says for Scouts "to help other people" or "to help others."

Scouts throughout the Chesapeake District of the Baltimore Area Council, Boy Scouts of America (BAC, BSA) will be distributing Scouting for Food bags through out the area on Saturday and Sunday, April 14 and 15 as part of their "help to others." 

They will be leaving the "Scouting for Food" bags, donated by , near your front doors, gates or fences throughout the community. The Boy Scouts are asking for the citizens in the community to help "help others" by filling the bags with non-perishable food items.

The bags will be picked up on Saturday April 21 after 8 a.m.   Please use the "Scouting for Food" or label them "Scouting for Food," and place the on the porch on near a gate so the scouts can see them for pick up. 

The BAC,BSA partners with Mars Super Markets, FPC Solutions, Fox45 / The CW Baltimore, and the MD, DE & DC Elks Association Inc on this critical initiative.

The "Scouting for Food" bags that are collected will be distributed to food pantries in the Southeast area of Baltimore County. Last year the local Chesapeake District Scouts collected over 24,000 pound of food items that stayed in the local area. 

The scout and the local for pantries thank you in advance for you help with this ongoing food program. The Baltimore Area Council Scouts collect more than 500,000 pound of food that went to pantries that service over 10,000 families in Central Maryland Additional information can be found at www.baltimorebsa.org/SFF.
