American Girl Fashion Show Casting Call Returns to White Marsh Mall

If you have spent any length of time around an elementary school aged girl, you have likely heard of the American Girl Dolls. The American Girl phenomenon continues to grow across the country with hundreds of girls and their mom’s flocking to American Girl Stores in select cities nationwide. Although the closest American Girl store for us is in Tyson’s Corner, White Marsh Mall is bringing the American Girl experience right here to the mall.

This Sunday, White Marsh Mall is looking for young ladies to come out to the 2nd Annual Casting Call for the American Girl Fashion Show. We will be hosting a casting call on Sunday, January 13 from 12 - 2pm in Lower Level, Center Court.

Any girl between the ages of five and 12 who is either a size 6x or 10 can try out for the model search. An application must be filled out and brought to the tryout.  Girls who are chosen, along with other girls from additional area searches, will participate in the 2nd Annual American Girl Fashion Show held at Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre on March 23-24th, 2013.  At the fashion show, young ladies of all ages can celebrate being a girl, through a presentation of historical and contemporary fashions.

In addition to being a fun experience for the girls, this event is also to raise funds and awareness for two fantastic local charities. 100% of the proceeds raised from the show from ticket sales, sponsorships, auctions and raffles, will go to the University of Maryland’s Children Hospital and The Cool Kids Campaign, a foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life for young people and their families facing the challenges of cancer.

We expect large crowds on Sunday, so come early (you can begin to line up at 11am) and be advised that the line will be cut off promptly at 2pm. All girls will have the opportunity to walk the runway and answer select questions from the judges. We hope to see you Sunday!
