November Events at CCBC

The Community College of Baltimore County hosts many varied activities for all tastes and pocketbooks during November! 

Through Nov. 21:  “IMAGINED REALITIES” – The Gallery at CCBC Catonsville
10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Mondays-Thursday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, Closed – Sundays, Q Bldg., CCBC Catonsville, 800 S. Rolling Road
Curated by Nicole Buckingham and Erik Miller, the exhibit has works by Piero Macgowan (Firaxis Games), Sean Andrew Murray (Harmonix), John Jude Palencar (“Eragon book covers,” etc., and Jen Zee (Supergiant Games)

Nov. 10-11:  “THE ODD COUPLE” – Children’s Playhouse of Maryland 1 p.m., Nov. 10-11 J Bldg. Lecture Hall CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd.
This production of Neil Simon’s comedy uses alternating male and female versions to explore the mismatch of a compulsive neat freak sharing an apartment with a slovenly friend!
Male version: Nov. 10; Female version: Nov. 11.

Nov. 5 – Dec. 21:  “INNER COLORS” – The Gallery at CCBC Dundalk
10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Mondays-Thursday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, Closed – Sundays,
Student Kattia Gibb-Hernandez curates this exhibit.
Nov. 30: 6 - 8 p.m.:  Reception with the artists and the curator in the Gallery.

Nov. 9-13: “MEDEA” – CCBC Catonsville Academic Theatre and the Community Book Connection
8 p.m., Nov. 9-10; 3 p.m., Nov. 11; 10 a.m., Nov. 12 and 1 p.m., Nov. 13, Q Building Theatre, CCBC Catonsville, 800 S. Rolling Road.
CCBC takes Euripides’ play to a new level with a tie-in to the “No Impact Man” sustainability mentality.  All performances include documentary screening and talk back.

Nov. 15-17: FALL DANCE CONCERT –  CCBC Dance Company
11:15 a.m., Nov.15 and 8 p.m., Nov. 16 and 17, Johns E. Ravekes Theatre in the K Building, CCBC Dundalk, 7200 Sollers Point Road.
CCBC Dance Company performs its annual Fall Dance Concert of original and/or newly choreographed works by faculty members Melinda Blomquist, Tommy "Cat on a Parlon, Linda O’Brien, Joan Nicholas-Walker and guest artist Jill Vasbinder Morrison, Artistic Director of Common Ground Dance Company.

Nov. 16:  STAR PARTY AT THE OBSERVATORY – CCBC Dundalk
7-9 p.m. (weather permitting), Observatory, CCBC Dundalk, 7200 Sollers Point Road
See celestial bodies up close with CCBC’s powerful Celestron 14-inch CGE 1400 XLT telescope.
FREE. No tickets required. If the weather is questionable, call 443-840-4216 no earlier than 45-minutes prior to the event, to see if it will be held.

Nov. 17:  “ASTRONOMICAL AUTUMN” IN THE BENJAMIN BANNEKER PLANETARIUM – CCBC Catonsville
10 a.m., Oct. 27, Benjamin Banneker Planetarium, D Building, D-003, CCBC Catonsville, 800 S. Rolling Road
Witness the changes in the sky as the Sun appears to fall below the celestial equator at the autumnal equinox to its lowest position at the winter solstice.  Along the way, the Moon goes through its phases and planets move through their configurations in both the early and the late nighttime skies.

Nov. 29-Dec. 4:  “CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF” – CCBC Essex Academic Theatre

Tennessee Williams’ classic Southern sizzler about death, infidelity and  mendacity.

Nov. 30:  CLASSICAL MUSIC STUDENT RECITAL – Music Forum at CCBC Essex

Talented students studying applied music at CCBC will present a recital of varied classical works from the Baroque era to contemporary times.
