Events galore at CCBC in April 2012

Money, music, dance are all at Community College of Baltimore County this April!

Learn how to manage money (Personal Finance Expo), celebrate Music and Dance (Jordan Thomas and Peter Pucci) and meet Rebecca Skloot, the author of "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" this April at Community College of Baltimore County.

April 18-20
Music at CCBC - Jordan Thomas, Harpist

April 20- 12:20 p.m. CCBC Essex, Building E, Recital Hall, 7201 Rossville Boulevard
Free. No tickets required.
Despite his youth, Philadelphia native Jordan Thomas has already impressed the musical world. He studies at the Peabody Institute and is a sought after orchestral and recital harpist. His honors include twice winning the gold medal in instrumental music at the Philadelphia NAACP ACT-SO competition, a fellowship from the national Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute, and First Place in the Philadelphia All-City Concerto Competition. In addition to playing as a harpist and soloist with regional orchestras, Jordan also freelances in jazz, contemporary music and musicals. Most recently he played in the orchestra for the CCBC Theater production of The Fantasticks.

Under the auspices of the School of Business, Social Sciences, Wellness and education’s Business Studies Department and hosted by the CCBC Enterprise Institute, CCBC’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), Kappa Beta Delta (international honor society), Achieving the Dream and Money Matters @ CCBC, the Expo will provide financial planning fundamentals and activities for all ages. Register in K-100 at 10 a.m. Concurrent workshops on a variety of topics will be available for attendees throughout the day beginning at 10:45 a.m. Children’s activities include the Money Station, moon bounce, face painting, games and educational activities.

CCBC Dance Company: Spring Dance Concert

April 27, 28 at 8 p.m. Building B, Theatre, CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard
A varied evening of dance will feature a new piece by CCBC Alumnus and Guest Choreographer Peter Pucci.
General Admission $8; seniors, students, CCBC faculty, staff, and alumni $5.
Tickets are available from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-2787 (ARTS) and two hours prior to each performance at the door.

April 27 – CCBC Essex
Music Forum: Music Theater Showcase

12:20 p.m. Building E, Recital Hall, CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard
CCBC voice students will present an afternoon of staged music theater scenes in solo and ensemble performances including opera, operetta, and Broadway.
Free. No registration or tickets are required.
