CCBC Essex to hold Bike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital

CCBC. The incredible value of education. Preschoolers' Bike-A-Thon slated for CCBC Essex Nov. 29

The Heat is on!  On Tuesday, Nov. 29, thirty bikers (preschoolers aged 2 1/2- 5 years) will compete at CCBC Essex 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. in a Bike-A-Thon in the D Building (GYM) at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd., to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.  Organized by the CCBC Essex Children's Learning Center, this educational event is designed to teach children about giving to others.

According to Head Teacher Merri Cage, "This is part of our annual holiday giving lesson.  It is character building and helps children feel good about themselves and others.  We encourage parents to let our preschoolers do chores to earn some money so that they can donate it to the work at St. Jude's.  We also welcome parents, friends and relatives to come to the Bike-A-Thon and cheer the racers on!"

The event will feature a pit stop to allow the racers to relax and enjoy the donated snacks.
