Aviation Museum Visits Essex Library With Local History

The Glenn L. Martin MD Aviation Museum has taken Middle River history on the road to readers at the Essex Library, 1110 Eastern Blvd in the Middlesex Shopping Center. The showcase at the library's check out area has photos of employees of the Glenn L. Martin Company in action building aircraft in the Middle River plant. Visitors to the library can have an "I Spy" experience to see if they can identify employees in the photos. Many former 1940's Glenn L. Martin employees still reside in Essex and Middle River communities and the exhibit at the Essex Library and a new World War II exhibit at the Museum titled "They Answered the Call" are tributes to the achievements and contributions to the war effort made by Glenn L. Martin and his employees. The Museum thanks the Essex Library for the opportunity to share with its readers a piece of eastern Baltimore County history.
