Rosie the Riveter Day at Aviation Museum

The Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum, www.mdairmuseum.org, is honoring Rosie the Riveters, the working women of World War II at  its annual Rosie the Riveter Day on October 5th from 11am to 2pm and invites area Rosies and their families and interested folks to attend.  The Baltimore community is encouraged to visit the Museum for a 12pm program that will honor these pioneering women of  the 1940's  who kept the homefront moving when the men went to war. Visitors are invited to explore the exhibit "The Answered the Call", a special tribute to Glenn Martin's 1940's employees, and other Museum exhibits , including its outdoor airplanes, before or after the noon program.  Members of the Baltimore and Laurel chapters of the American Rosie the Riveter Association will be on hand to meet attending Rosies and to share their stories with visitors. Visitors attending this event will discover their challenges of worklife and homelife and their "We can do it!" spirit during an era when their country needed help to win the war.  If you have a Rosie in your family's history, please come and share her story. Admission is family friendly at $3 for adults and $1 for children.
Rosies are free by rsvping at 410-682-6122.
