Open Cockpit Day at Aviation Museum

Attention parents: prep your children for next week's Disney's movie  "Planes, Fire and Rescue" by bringing them to Open Cockpit Day July 12 form 11am to 3pm where they can see Museum planes Skyhawk, Phantom, Voodoo, Thunderchief, Thunderflash and many more and sit in the pilot's seat of the Canberra built by the Martin Company. And we put kids to work in our Red, White and Blue Rocket Manufacturing Company!! It's a fabulously fun, budget friendly day at the Museum!!! And you can meet author Vince Gisriel, women pilots of the 99's and Rosie the Riveters! So load up your family and neighbors and set imaginations soaring!! This is one of only two 2014 Open Cockpit Days remaining!

The Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum, located at Martin State Airport, offers visitors the opportunity to launch a dream and capture a memory on Second Saturdays from April through August from 11am - 2pm with a visit to the Museum's Open Cockpit Day. Weather permitting, visitors can experience air travel of the 1950's and board the Museum's 1952 Martin 404 passenger airliner. And for children dreaming of being a pilot or for adults wanting to discover the view of a pilot in flight, visitors can sit in the pilot's seat of one of the Museum's jet fighter aircraft. The Museum's  exhibit "They Answered the Call", a salute to the World War II employees of the Glenn L. Martin Company will be open for discovering 1940's Middle River, its people and their communities and service to their country.
