A train derailment in Baltimore County Tuesday afternoon has caused road closures that could impact commuters traveling around the metro area.

  • From US Route 40/Pulaski Highway, exits to Interstates 95 and 895 are closed, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. Motorists headed northbound on I-95 should take Interstate 695 as an alternate route, the Maryland Department of Transportation recommended.
  • The exit to Route 40/Pulaski Highway from Interstate 95 north is closed.
  • Pulaski Highway was completely shut down between Rosedale Avenue and 64th Street, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation.

Those heading home on the tracks should not face delays; Amtrak and MARC passengers will not be impacted, transportation officials announced.
