9/11 Tributes Scheduled Throughout Baltimore Region

Churches, fire departments among those paying respect to those who died in the terrorist attacks 10 years ago today.

Across the country, people will be paying tribute to the thousands of people who died on the terrorist attacks that took place on Sept. 11, 2001.

Here are just a few of those scheduled tributes set to take place in the Baltimore area:

1. White Marsh Volunteer Fire Department

  • Where: , 5419 Ebenezer Rd, White Marsh, MD 21162
  • When: 8:30 a.m.
  • What: The is planning a memorial service at front of the company's flagpole to remember the police, firefighters, EMS providers and civilians who died.

2. 9/11 Memorial Service

  • Where: , 544 Back River Neck Road, Essex, MD 21221
  • When: 10:15 a.m.
  • What: The church will hold a service to recognize those who made the ultimate sacrifice 10 years ago along with the countless others who displayed bravery on that day.

Where: Harley-Davidson Store, 8845 Pulaski Highway, Baltimore, MD 21237

When: 1 p.m.

What: Thousands of motorcycle riders will join in this event which will take them around the Baltimore beltway. Proceeds from all events benefit: Flight 93 National Memorial, Frank J. Battaglia Signal 13 Foundation, our Wounded Warriors, and the children at Johns Hopkins Pediatric Burn Center.

4. Flag-Waving Remembrance

  • Where: Route 152 overpass at I-95
  • When: 2-4 p.m.
  • What: Dels. Pat McDonough and Rick Impallaria, along with volunteer firefighters and community groups, will host a flag-waving remembrance tribute to the victims and families of 9-11. There will be plenty of free parking at the Park and Ride on Mountain Road (Route 152).

5. 9/11 Remembrance/Praise for Freedom Service

  • Where: , 201 Bowleys Quarters Rd, Middle River, MD 21220
  • When: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
  • What: All first responders and military, past and present, are invited to come (in uniform if possible) to be honored for their dedication.  There will be time for remembering 9/11, those who sacrificed their lives, and sharing stories/photos, etc. There will also be praying and singing to celebrate the freedoms we are still able to enjoy thanks to these dedicated individuals.
