NFTE Baltimore appoints Middle River resident director of development

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), Baltimore, has appointed Dawn Edwards director of development.

As director of development, Edwards is responsible for the development and implementation of fundraising strategies for the Baltimore office.

Edwards brings more than 13 years of development and communications experience in the nonprofit sector to her role at NFTE Baltimore. She served as managing director, development, for Maryland Nonprofits, where she worked to grow revenue and develop long-term relationships with foundation and corporate funders. She has also worked at BoardSource, where she served in several development positions and provided oversight of a diversified fund development program. Edwards also served as director of communications for AIDS Delaware, where she coordinated marketing and communications efforts.

She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor's Degree in political science from Mount St. Mary's University.

"Dawn Edwards' background in development is a strong addition to the NFTE Baltimore team," said Andy Hubner, executive director. "Her leadership and first-hand knowledge of successful fundraising will help us provide even more low-income students with NFTE's one-of-a-kind entrepreneurship curriculum."

NFTE is an international nonprofit based in New York that provides entrepreneurship programs to inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, recognize business opportunities and plan for successful futures. The organization's Baltimore office has educated 10,000 students since its founding in 2002. For more information, visit nfte.com.
