GREAT ESCAPE: Expos Offer Great Times Out for Women

Rock Hall Expo & Outdoor Show and Women's Expo offer valuable networking and educational experiences.

Expos are excellent opportunities to escape the everyday chores as well as giving us the perfect chance to shop and save money at the same time.

Here are two more Expo events to consider:

The Rock Hall Expo & Outdoor Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 5 at the Rock Hall Fire House.

This year’s Expo features new businesses such as The Kitchen at Rock Hall, Rock Hall Village Shops, Professional Computer Repair, Rock Hall Properties Real Estate and more.

You’ll discover a little piece of Kent County - Eastern Shore we often pass by on our way to the ocean.

Attendees can see recreational products and services, home improvement ideas, and service organizations. Local restaurants, specialty food shops and inns will offer displays and refreshments. The Rock Hall Fire Company Auxiliary will serve a traditional Eastern Shore lunch. Admission to the Expo is free, with donations to the RHVFC appreciated.

The other Expo, the Women's Expo at CCBC Catonsville is a two-part event. First, from Thursday-Friday, there is a gathering primarily for business networking with a few hundred connection opportunities. This is followed by a Saturday-Sunday Expo with approximately 200 vendors that will amaze you with the wide variety of products and services being displayed, workshops being given, and more opportunities to excite you.

The Women’s Expo has been an annual event at CCBC Catonsville is always a sellout. This year, in honor of its 10th anniversary and in-step with its own business plan, the Expo has expanded to include a two-day conference.

On Thursday and Friday, March 10-11,  interested folks will gather from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Aloft Hotel - BWI, 1741 W. Nursery Rd, Linthicum. There is a breakfast event each morning.Thursday’s breakfast features a panel of 10 Amazing Women and Men.

Friday’s breakfast speaker is Eric Brotman, author of "Debt-Free for Life: The Tools You Need to Free Yourself from Debt," speaking on living life debt free. There will also be several interesting workshops both days along with the Book Lovers Café.

The breakfast only sessions are $25 each; a full day is $45; and a two-day package deal is only $75. This is a super-low price is an introductory offer for the first Expo Conference and in honor of the Expo’s 10th Anniversary.

The opportunities include a Dream TV video interview, open-mike interviews with the authors, and business connecting while meeting potential customers and making new friends. It is surely worth three or four times that amount and will definitely cost more when the anniversary special ends.

The anniversary special carries over to the two-day Expo event at CCBC-Catonsville. In the past an entrance fee was charged. This year it is free. A wide variety of vendors will present their products and services. Many 20-minute stage presentations, hour-long workshops, as well as many door prizes and raffles will also be available.

So, come for a little while, come stay all day or return the next day. Enjoy a tremendous change ofpace, experience a learning opportunity, or just have a fun family get-away! The Expo is free.
