Essex Aldi Store to Hold Hiring Event Thursday

The Essex Aldi grocery store will host a hiring event for Baltimore-area Aldi store openings from 6 to 9 a.m. Thursday.

The grocery store chain is hiring cashiers and shift managers, according to a statement from the company. Cashiers start at $12 an hour and have the opportunity to be promoted to shift managers; shift managers start at $16.25 an hour.

Job applicants must be at least 18 years old; have a high school diploma or GED; be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.; and be able to lift 45 pounds, according to the statement.

Retail experience is preferred for all applicants; management experience is preferred for manager trainees.

Applicants must undergo a drug-screening and background check.

Part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week receive full health insurance, dental coverage and can participate in the company's 401(k) retirement plan, according to the statement.
