Air National Guard History Day

You see the aircraft fly over your neighborhood, at the beginning of football games, and over 4th of July parades. You may pass their base at Martin State Airport on Eastern Avenue everyday. You hear of its deployment overseas and its humanitarian efforts in the USA. Now discover the history of the Maryland Air National Guard, its beginning and its future at a history symposium presented by the Air Guard and the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum. This event is being held at the 175th Wing Dining Hall at Warfield Air National Guard Base at Martin State Airport.

Panel Discussions bring to light the Air Guard's journey from its beginnings in 1929 through to the 21st century. The 10am panel features former Commanders and Chiefs from 1940 - 2000. The 1pm panel features former Commanders and Chiefs from 2000-2012 to discuss operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and humanitairan missions/hurrican relief. At the 11:30am break there will be a tour of the Air Guard's static aircraft display and photos of an A-10, C-27, F-86 and SA-16 Albatross.

This is a free event. However, reservations are required for entry onto the airbase by calling 410-682-6122.
