Faded Image Ready to 'Rock the River'

The popular local band will join HyJinx on June 3 to headline the inaugural "Rockin' the River" festival at Conrad's Ruth Villa in Middle River.

Baier, along with bandmates Stuart Sadler (drums/vocals), John Goodman (guitar) and Brian White (bass), play around 60 dates a year across Maryland, Virginia and as far south as Key West, Fla.

The festival is set to run from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. June 3 at Conrad's Ruth Villa in Middle River. The cost of the event is $10, with food, beer and soda available for purchase.

Proceeds from the event after expenses will benefit the Marine Trades Association of Baltimore County's Scholarship and Education Fund.

“We play gigs all over the state and our fans have been so supportive through the years,” said Baier, who lives in Middle River. “The festival is for a great cause and our way to help give back.”

Baier said Faded Image has remained popular for so long because the band members try to offer music for a wide range of people. The band performs songs from the 1970s through today, including classic rock, country, pop music, Top 40 and hard rock.

That reputation is well known among Faded Image’s fan base, which does a great job of spreading the word by word of mouth, email and social media, Baier said.

The band has 3,000 email addresses on its distribution list, more than 3,500 Facebook friends and even 5,000 people who receive a quarterly schedule through traditional mail.

“Whether you’re older or younger, we have something for everyone,” Baier said. “We try to make our shows an experience. We want people to forget about all the doom and gloom out there and how much gasoline costs and just come out and have a great time.”
